Rebuilding SU: Your ThoughtsScreenwriter’s Utopia has undergone a few changes over the years. In order to make it better, we’re working on a new design that will make it easier to get access to all of the features here, as well as overhaul some stuff here. I know that some of you might not really care too much about this, but we’ve got some other features we’d like to introduce for members and the current code can’t handle what we need. So, it’s time to grow out of this skin and into a new one. At the same time, we’d like to solicit opinions from the SU community as to what they would like to see in the future. We do listen to what people have to say, and we do try to make it happen given our resources. What kind of tools would you like to see available for you as a writer, as a screenwriter or otherwise in general? What kinds of things would make life easier or life as a writer more bearable that we could provide for you? So please, tell us what you’d like to see. Post as a comment here or in the forums and we’ll be watching. Keep in mind that we won’t begin the rebuild for another few months, so any and all thoughts between now and say the end of summer are appreciated. Hi, Devin,
Nothing fantastic from me (as yet, anyway), but a couple of small points.
At ‘Open Forum’, in “Which Countries are Represented Here?’, I want to delete old lists when I publish updated lists. I cannot see how to ‘delete’ any old posting, so I edit the long old list down to “Deleted Message”. I’d like to be able to get rid of these old ones entirely as they make this part of the forum longer than necessary.
Also, when I copy/paste the old list to make the new list, the coding symbols and for boldfacing disappear and I have to retype each time. No big deal, but I’d prefer not to have to do that.
I realise that I could simply ‘edit’ and not try to delete the listing each time, but I think the listing would fall behind the new postings and not appear to be dated appropriately.
Happy hunting, mate,
David.
