Paramount Snags Comedy Pitch
July 22nd, 2004
According to Variety, Paramount and producer Scott Rudin have preemptively purchased a comedy pitch by the writing duo of Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember titled, "Failure to Launch". The duo are veteran TV series writers who last year sold the comic script BUZZ KILL to Fox Searchlight.
Reportedly, film's story revolves around a thirty-something man who continues to live with his parents and uses them as a way to short-circuit relationships. He falls in love with the woman of his dreams and begins to suspect she has been hired by his parents as a way to get him out of the house.
