WGA Announces Best Screenplays Nominations

Wednesday the Writers Guild Awards announced nominations for best screenplays.

ERIN BROCKOVICH, by Susannah Grant and Richard LaGravanese.
ALMOST FAMOUS, by Cameron Crowe.
YOU CAN COUNT ON ME, by Kenneth Lonergan.
BILLY ELLOIT, by Lee Hall.
BEST IN SHOW, by Eugene Levy and Christopher Guest.

This year's Golden Globe screenplay winner, Stephen Gaghan, leads the field for Best adapted screenplay with his effort, TRAFFIC.

Other WGA nominees for best adapted screenplay:

Tsai Kuo Jung, James Schamus and Wang Hui-Ling for the martial arts fantasy CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON, based on the book by Wang Du Lu.

HIGH FIDELITY, based on the book by Nick Hornby., screenplay by D.V. DeVincentis, Steve Pink, John Cusack and Scott Rosenberg.

CHOCOLATE, based on a a novel by Joanne Harris, screenplay by Robert Nelson Jacobs.

WONDER BOYS, based on the novel by Michael Chabon, screenplay by Steve Kloves.
