Shaun Jooste is a published author, poet and feature film screenwriter, living in Cape Town, South Africa.
He writes for various genres, specialising in fantasy, horror, thriller, crime and sci-fi. Besides his published epic fantasy series, The Celenic Earth Chronicles, he has submitted a sci-fi screenplay, The Space Drifter, to the Cinequest Screenwriting Festival, receiving a recommendation for the script having 'great potential'. He is working in collaboration with a UK recognised film producer on a horror feature to be submitted to the 2017 London Horror Fest. Shaun also has a collection of 564 poems, one of which will be published in "From the Heart" anthology of poems by Poetry Press Publishing International.
Shaun participated in the NaNoWriMo 2015 event, winning by writing 50k words by the deadline. He is also registered with the Writer's Guild of South Africa where his screenplays are registered and copyrighted.

He is also the Editor for the Celenic Earth Newsletter, featuring up-to-date articles on writing genres, author and screenwriter opportunities, author interviews, and non-fictional tales related to fictional stories.
On a more formal basis, Shaun works for local government, whereby his writing expertise are utilised for Mayoral and Executive Management reports and presentations, synopsis development, and the Branch's newsletter.
Shaun has also become involved in several causes which are close to his heart, such as the HeforShe UN movement for Gender Equality, the Kids Need to Read initiative co-founded by Nathan Fillion, the Kids of the Cape Charity, the World Wide Fund for animal protection and relief, and Save the Rhino initiative.
When not writing in his bonsai garden, he spends quality time with his family, and learns new rocks songs on his acoustic, electric and bass guitars.
