From Deadline.com, last Saturday a bidding war (and from the report a very back and forth battle) took place between Sony, Universal and Warner Bros. for the spec script WINTER’S KNIGHT. Reportedly, Sony ultimately took home the prize for a cool 1$ million. The lucky writers are Ben Lustig and Jake Thornton, both first timers. Congrats! The price tag is (tied) for the largest spec sale this year so far! The story is descried as a “Viking-mythology-tinged origin story of St. Nick and Christmas.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, MISSING TIME written by David O'Leary, has Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot of Offspring Entertainment set to produce.
Writer-director Mike Flanagan and Intrepid Pictures’ Trevor Macy are reteaming on the supernatural thriller DIVER.
Linsefilm (based in LA) purchased an original comedy spec screenplay PUSHING DAISY from writers Neal Gumpel and A.J. Benza.
Norwegian writer Petter Skavlan is developing An original series THE INSTITUTION for Nordisk Film
