Fight Club is a movie based on a book that noone read. It sounded like a recipe for disaster but not only did it make Brad Pitt the King of Cool it also made Edward Norton a household name and Chuck Palahniuk a bestselling author with the largest internet fanbase in the world. The plot is based around a group of young men with ordinary and unfulfilling lives who find incredible therepeutic release from beating each other to a bloody pulp and listening to the philosophical teachings of Tyler Durden. It is told from the point of view of the Unknown Narrator who goes from a streetwise white collar worker to Tyler Durden's apostle. He know the ins and outs of Tyler's nihilistic world because they are the same person. They fall in love with the same messed up girl, they inhabit the same body,the same twisted sense of humor and Tyler is the answer to our narrarator's lack of fulfillment and his insomnia. Eventually Tyler begins to controll him and leads him down a horrible downward slope until there is no escape and even the love of Marla can't save him.
