Lots of adaptations and some remakes, true stories, and not a lot of specs. What’s new!? Horror sold well as did comedy. Historical period pieces also are represented nicely.

I Walked With a Zombie - remake of the 1943 horror film. Adam Marcus attached to direct. Story focuses on a private tutor who discovers a terrifying family secret while working at the ancient estate of a New Orleans businessman. Writers Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan; production RKO, Roseblood Movie Co., Twisted Pictures.

Monster Attack Network - focuses on a team of first-responders who guard the citizens of Lapuatu, a Pacific island that would be a paradise except for frequent attacks by giant monsters that rise from the sea. Writers Marc Bernardin, Adam Freeman, Scott Elder, Josh Harmon; production Kickstart. Elder and Harmon to adapt Freeman and Bernardin's graphic novel.

Agent Zigzag - story of Edward Arnold Chapman, a career criminal who was trained by the Nazis to be a spy during WWII. On a mission to sabotage an airplane factory in England, he contacted the Brits and began a life as a double agent. Writers Ben Macintyre, Mark Bomback; Production Playtone, Gary Goetzman, Tom Hanks. Bomback to adapt Macintyre's novel.

Merman - story follows a merman who comes to land so he can win back his mermaid fiancee, who has left him for a real man. Writers Jeff Moskowitz, Jennifer Abu Hollander; production Imagine, Brian Grazer, Kim Roth, Daniel Rosenberg, Lisa Blum. Hollander's draft based on Moskowitz's concept.

Untitled Nelson Mandela Picture - project tells the real-life story of how Mandela, as the new South African president, worked with the captain of the national rugby team, Francois Pienaar, to help unite the country after apartheid. Writers John Carlin, Anthony Peckham; production Clint Eastwood, Lori McCreary, Robert Lorenz, Mace Neufeld, Morgan Freeman, Tim Moore, Gary Barber, Roger Birnbaum. Scott Eastwood, Morgan Freeman, Matt Damona attached to star. Clint Eastwood attached to direct. Peckham adapted Carlin's novel.

Unknown White Male - story about a doctor who awakens from a coma to finds he seemingly has been replaced by another man. Writer Karl Gadjusek; production Dark Castle and Joel Silver. Jaume Collet-Serra attached to direct.

Red Tails - Project details the true story of the 332nd Fighter Group from World War II, an elite all-black unit of escort pilots known as the Red Tails. Writer John Ridley; producer Rick McCallum, George Lucas. Tristan Wilds attached to star. Anthony Hemingway attached to direct.

Important Artifacts and Personal Property From the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion and Jewelry - Story takes the form of a Sotheby's-like estate auction catalog, with 325 entries and photographs depicting items that reveal the private moments and the rise and fall of a four-year relationship between the fictitious couple Hal Morris (a 40ish photographer) and Lenore Doolan (a New York Times food columnist in her late 20s). Writer Leanne Shapton, production Plan B, Handsomecharlie Films, Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman. Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman attached to star.

Demonkeper - story follows a Seattle teen who inherits responsibility for a house filled with demons. When the youth finally breaks free of his charges to go on a date, he returns to discover that kids have broken into the house, unleashing its most vicious demon, the Beast, Killer of Lost Children. Writers Royce Buckingham, Laeta Kalogridis; production AEI, Ken Atchity, Chi-Li Wong. Kalogridis to adapt Buckingham's novel. Sam Fell attached to direct.
