Writers Guild Appoints Deputy Executive Director

LOS ANGELES -- Writers Guild of America, west Executive Director John McLean announced today the promotion of General Counsel Marshall Goldberg to the newly created position of deputy executive director.
"Marshall has brought dedication, integrity, passion, and brilliance to the position of general counsel at the Writers Guild. He is the first person from a creative background to serve in a senior position at a creative guild," said McLean. "He has the unique ability to combine a creator's vision and a lawyer's analytical skills in addressing the problems facing the guild. We have worked extremely well together, and I look forward to our continuing partnership in the future."
"Two of the highest priorities for the guild are enforcement of our contract and ensuring that our credit rules are upheld. In his new position, Marshall will oversee the enforcement of credits and contracts in addition to his duties as general counsel," added McLean.
