Script Report: A PRINCESS OF MARS

Screenwriter Ehren Kruger has been hired by Paramount Pictures to write a new draft of A PRINCESS OF MARS. The film which is based on the first book in the "John Carter of Mars" 11-book series by Edgar Rice Burroughs. SKY CAPTAIN AND THE WORLD OF TOMORROW director Kerry Conran remains attached.
Kruger's past credits include the scripts for THE RING and the forthcoming sequel, REINDEER GAMES, ARLINGTON ROAD, IMPOSTER, SCREAM 3, Terry Gilliam's BROTHERS GRIMM and a new horror film coming out next year, SKELETON KEY. All earlier drafts of PRINCESS (including the Mark Protosevich draft) will be discarded.
