Mamet developing new TV drama series
August 25th, 2004
The Hollywood Reporter says Pulitzer Prize winner David Mamet is developing a new drama series about the lives of members of a military anti-terrorism unit. The as-yet-untitled series was inspired by Eric Haney's 2002 book "Inside Delta Force: The Story of America's Elite Counterterrorist Unit."
Mamet is working on the project with Shawn Ryan, the creator and executive producer of 'The Shield'. Mamet directed an episode of the hit TV police drama last year. It is reported that Mamet will write the script for the pilot and act as an executive producer.
