LIEUTENANT RAMSEY'S WAR
Another WWII drama. This time it's LIEUTENANT RAMSEY'S WAR. To be
adapted from the 1991 bio "Lieutenant Ramsey's War: From Horse Soldier
to Guerrilla Commander," written by Edwin Ramsey and Stephen Rivele.
New Line picked up the pic from turnaround from Columbia Pictures,
which optioned it back in 1997. Director Peter Kosminsky is attached
to helm. Kosminsky and Ramsey are working on a treatment while New
Line searches for a writer.
STORYLINE: After Japan took the Philippines in 1942, a US
Army lieutenant refused to surrender and instead joined up with the
Filipino resistance and commanded more than 40,000 guerrillas. The
man stood his ground even though he was at the top of the Japanese
death list, and stayed until Gen. Douglas MacArthur landed in 1945.
WRITER: Edwin Ramsey and Stephen Rivele (authors)
