APG and StudioCanal To Remake French Spy Flick
Artists Production Group and StudioCanal have hired screenwriter Jeff
King (THE RELIC HUNTER, 1999, TV) to write an update of the 1981 French
spy thriller LE PROFESSIONNEL. No other talent attached at the time.
STORYLINE: A CIA agent, deep undercover, is sent to assassinate a
foreign dictator, but when the political climate changes, the CIA attempts
to turn in the agent for the crime.
WRITERS: Patrick Alexander (novel) Michel Audiard and Georges Lautne
(1981 screenplay), Jeff King (updated screenplay)
