Warner Bros. and John Wells Bow Down To THE EMPEROR OF OCEAN PARK
Warner Bros. in association with John Wells Prods. and Gaylord
Films has secured the rights to the novel THE EMPEROR OF OCEAN
park in a pre-emptive bid. EMPEROR will be the first novel by
Stephen L. Carter. Knopf recently acquired the book rights for
$4 million. Not bad for a first-timer.
STORYLINE: An African American professor becomes involved
in a deadly game while investigating the death of his father.
