New Line To Re-Draw THE RED CIRCLE
I think I smell a Jean-Pierre Melville revival in the air.
New Line Cinema has acquired the rights to the late french
filmmaker's LE CERCLE ROUGE {THE RED CIRCLE} (1970). This is
the second remake of one of Melville's films to be announced
this week. The other being Neil Jordan's DOUBLE DOWN. Brett
Ratner (THE FAMILY MAN, 2000) is attached to direct and Richard
Regen will handle script duties.
STORYLINE: A theif, recently released from prison, and a
murderer, recently escaped from prison, team up to pull off
a major heist.
