New Line takes on project by ELECTION duo.
Writer-director Alexander Payne and partner Jim Taylor,
whose last effort was the critically acclaimed ELECTION,
have sold their drama, ABOUT SCHMIDT, to New Line Cinema.
Payne will once again direct with rumors flying that Jack
Nicholson will take the lead role.
STORYLINE: Albert Schmidt, a recently widowed retired
insurance salesman, slowly loses his grip on life and struggles
to stay afloat.
