Hollywood Script Deals
Chartoff Prods and Phoenix Pictures have acquired scribe
Ann Peacock's romance pitch "Country of My Skull," to be
adapted from Antjie Krog's novel.
Storyline: an interracial romance during the Truth
and Reconciliation Hearings held after the apartheid ended
in South Africa. The romantic characters are a married, black
US journalist and a white South African woman.
Deal: mid-six to high-six fugures.
Writer credits: "A Lesson Before Dying" (1999, MOW)
