Studio CEOs Use 'Old School' Tactics...Accuse WGA Of...

After some positive news earlier this week, the evil empire is at it again.

On Thursday the studio bosses grossly overstating the union's contract demands, a stance that does not lend itself to positive negotiations with the WGA, which are upcoming end of this month.

According to the Baron robbers (studio CEOs), the WGA proposals, if applied to upcoming actors' and directors' contracts, would cost up to $2.4 billion over three years. It estimated instead that the cost increase for all three groups over three years would be $725 million, with the WGA slice amounting to $161.1 million.

"We are very concerned that the hyperinflated numbers issued by the companies to the press represent 'old school' bargaining tactics," the WGA said. "We hope the companies are not putting out these groundless numbers to paint the guild's proposals as outrageous and to justify their own refusal to make a deal in the upcoming negotiations. Despite our concerns, we approach these negotiations in the belief that we can reach agreement."
