Eszterhas to write THE ICE BOWL for ESPN

Famed screenwriter Joe Eszterhas has been tapped to pen the script for the "The Ice Bowl," ESPN's upcoming telefilm about the famed 1967 NFL division championship game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys that was played in subzero temperatures in Green Bay, Wis.
"Bowl" is Eszterhas' first project since being diagnosed with throat cancer two years ago. "In some ways, my great lifelong love of sports has gotten me through this period, and when ESPN came to me with this idea, I immediately saw it as part of my recovery," Eszterhas said.
The telefilm is slated to premiere Dec. 13, the 36th anniversary of the game.
