Script Updates: MAN ALIVE, SUPERMAN LIVES, FREEBIRD

Variety reports that Morgan Creek Prods. has acquired the thriller spec script MAN ALIVE by Larry Cohen (PHONE BOOTH).
LatinoReview interviewed Director Brett Ratner this past weekend during the NYC junket for RED DRAGON and a lot of talk turned toward SUPERMAN LIVES. Reportedly Ratner said that it was "definitely next for [him]" and when asked about the script the director spewed, "J.J. Abrams delivered a fucking amazing script and that's why I'm doing it".
During a book signing in LA last week, author Greg Garrett let it slip that his novel "Freebird", which came out in March earlier this year, is on the way to the big screen. Warner Bros has the rights to the property. According to reports, scribe John Lee Hancock (THE ROOKIE) have been in talks to pen the script.
