Script Report: GEMINI

According to Movie Mafia, experiments with computer wizardry have succeeded in digitally cloning Mel Gibson for what some believe will be one of the most ambitious films ever: GEMINI, set in the near future, a genetics company's hitman grows obsolete and hunted down by a 20-year-old clone. The multi-million tests to create a "real-looking" 23-year-old Gibson to provide images of the younger Mel used extensive footage from his 1982 political thriller THE YEAR OF LIVING DANGEROUSLY, made by Aussie Peter Weir when Mel was 26. These images were mixed with footage from Gibson's 1999 drama PAYBACK. Apparently the success of the "cloning" has led Gibson to come closer to signing "an extremely-lucrative deal" to star in GEMINI, a science-fiction thriller from Touchstone Pictures and Disney's special effects house Secret Lab. The screenplay is by Darren Lemke and a director will be named once Gibson officially commits to the project.
