Script Report: SE7EN 2 ????
April 24th, 2002
According to Variety, New Line Cinema is exploring another installment of SEVEN. The sequel the studio is contemplating would make Morgan Freeman's cop character the centerpiece in a restructuring of SOLACE, a spec script by OCEAN'S ELEVEN scribe Ted Griffin and Sean Bailey that New Line bought last year for seven figures. The storyline revolves around a psychic cop tracking a serial killer who has psychic capabilities himself. Word has it that Freeman is contemplating the project. What complicates this is that Paramount bosses and producers David Brown and Joe Wizan are forging ahead with the third installment of the Alex Cross franchise, Freeman's homicide detective character from KISS THE GIRLS and ALONG CAME A SPIDER, which they hope will continue with the James Patterson bestseller "Roses Are Red".
