Why not? In the anti-climatic category comes this announcement from Columbia Pictures. Four weeks before the release of its highly anticipated SPIDER-MAN, the studio has closed a deal with Sam Raimi to direct a sequel and hired SMALLVILLE executive producers Miles Millar and Alfred Gough to handle the script. Production is slated to begin in first-quarter 2003, with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst reprising their roles as Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man)
