Robbins PERFECT SCORE
January 28th, 2002
Brian Robbins (VARSITY BLUES) has come on to direct THE PERFECT SCORE for Paramount. This dramedy, which is said to combine elements of THE BREAKFAST CLUB, RISKY BUSINESS and THE USUAL SUSPECTS, is about seven high school seniors -- five boys and two girls -- who heist the SATs.
I havent read the script, so I cant say for sure, but this thing certainly sounds dreadful.
What is up with our friend Robbins? He makes a hit out of that ridiculous GOOD BURGER movie. Then directs a surprisingly effective high-school melodrama, VARSITY BLUES (which features the seminal line of our generation: I dont want...your life.), and then starts in with slag like HARDBALL and this.
Well...lets hope he shapes up soon. There has to be a good teen script around for him to make.
