John Sayles to pen THE ALAMO...

John Sayles is in final negotiations to write the Walt Disney Co.'s THE ALAMO, for Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment as a directing vehicle for Howard. It is a seven-figure deal for the writer/director. The project reunites Imagine with Sayles with Howard, he worked on the APOLLO 13 script which Howard directed.
The story is reportedly a historical representation of the great battle that took place in Texas and will be in the vein of BRAVEHEART.
