Four Samurai Films in Development

Warner Bros. Pictures has paid a low-six-figures for "Kung Fu" creator Ed Spielman to write a feature adaptation of his long-running television series.
The pic is titled AMERICAN SAMURAI and Spielman will write the first draft and serve as executive producer.
Note: Samurai projects have become a hot property in recent months: Warners has fast-tracked a 19th century samurai epic script by John Logan (GLADIATOR). 20th Century Fox's New Regency has its own samurai pic in development, THE LAST SAMURAI. Even the indies are getting involved, Miracle Entertainment is developing SHINOBI.
