Script Report: SOLOMON GRUNDY
July 26th, 2001
Danny Boyle who directed THE BEACH, is in final negotiations to helm Miramax's adaptation of "Solomon Grundy," based on British writer Dan Gooch's novel of the same name. The project is expected to start filming early next year after Boyle wraps shooting Fox Searchlight Pictures' sci-fi feature 28 DAYS LATER (HR 5/4). Robert Nelson Jacobs, who was nominated for an Oscar for his adaptation of Miramax's CHOCOLATE, scripted the adaptation of "Grundy."
GRUNDY will be an epic comedy that follows the whirlwind experiences of a man who lives a full, complete life in one week's time. The project is expected to use state-of-the-art technology to depict the hero's life cycle.
