Writers Get Internet Payments!

The Internet may be a risky and albeit unproven way of distributing films, TV programs, or original content, the agreement reached Friday between the WGA (note, it's a tentative agreement pending guild members approval) and producers includes the first provisions to pay writers for work distributed on the Internet. Studios agreed to pay writers 1.2% of their income from showing movies or television shows over the Internet. The payments apply to all programs created after July 1, 1971.
