Brian Helgeland (L.A. CONFIDENTIAL) will join forces with producer-director-actor Clint Eastwood to write an adaptation of the bestselling psychological suspense thriller novel "Mystic River," penned by Dennis Lehane.
storyline: three childhood friends whose relationship ends in the wake of a tragic incident; 25 years later, the three are linked by a murder investigation.
According to Variety, Eastwood and Helgeland are currently collaborating on another project, an adaptation of bestselling mystery/thriller "Blood Work" by Michael Connelly. Eastwood is set to produce, star and direct from Helgeland's screenplay.
