Another epic in development. Within recent weeks we've seen ALEXANDER THE GREAT get new life, and David Franzoni's King Arthur project hit the fast track.
Today Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. and Ted Field's Radar Pictures will team-up on an epic samurai drama to be written by scribe John Logan (GLADIATOR, STAR TREK X) and produced and directed by Edward Zwick. Logan and Zwick sold the idea as a pitch.
"John and I have wanted to work together for a long time," Zwick told Daily Variety. "I read an early draft of his script 'RKO 281,' and I was just knocked out by it. We began a correspondence, and now we're really excited about finding a project we can work on together."
