M. Night Shyamalan Inspired By Comic Books

With the upcoming release of UNBREAKABLE, Writer-director M. Night Shyamalan is hitting it hard with interviews and other media. While talking to the Los Angeles Daily News, Sunday edition, he revealed that comic books inspired him to write UNBREAKABLE.

"I like taking things that are unbelievable and try to make you believe in them by the end of the two hours."

Another interesting tidbit, which makes sense to me, Shyamalan said he prefers to shoot films chronologically to help the actors develop their characters.

"You have to make sure you're there with the character's knowledge one scene at a time," he said. "You don't really buy it when, in a horror movie, say, the person goes, 'It's not haunted,' or when the characters don't believe that there's an 8-foot shark out there."
