GHOST RIDER and other COMIC BOOK NEWS
August 30th, 2000
It's now confirmed that Stephen Norrington (BLADE, DEATH MACHINE) will direct GHOST RIDER from David Goyer's script, and both will be executive producers. This is the same duo that produced (as director and writer) the New Line hit adaptation of the Marvel franchise BLADE.
It's also been reported that Dimension Films is coming aboard as well. Miramax Films will co-finance the $75 million picture and distribute it domestically.
Rumor has it that they are trying to land Johnny Depp to play the title role in GHOST RIDER. If he won't, then they'll probably move on to another A-list actor.
Production to start this Spring.
OTHER COMIC BOOK NEWS
Columbia starts production in November on Marvel's SPIDER MAN, which will have Sam Raimi at the helm. Universal is still looking for a director for THE INCREDIBLE HULK.
Fox has two Marvel projects, besides X-MEN, in the works: FANTASTIC FOUR and SILVER SURFER.
