Disney and Bruckheimer Create Rocker-esque Character
July 3rd, 2000
According to Filmland.com, Jerry Bruckheimer and Disney have accepted a pitch from Billy Devlin portraying a Boston Red Sox baseball player with views similar to those of Braves pitcher John Rocker. He receives death threats on a scheduled NY trip and is assigned for protection a NY city cop who happens to be a fierce Yankees fan. The project is billed as a mismatched buddy comedy and comes the week that Rocker has vowed to ride his much aligned no.7 subway.
