Part One

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (GAME OF THRONES) are set to write (adapt), produce and direct the novel DIRTY WHITE BOYS for Fox. The book was published in 1995 written by Stephen Hunter, who also wrote Point Of Impact. The story is about three malcontent convicts on the run and the detective tasked with bringing them down.

“We’re sitting around bullshitting and we started talking about lines we were jealous of before it came around to the familiar topic of greatest opening lines in novels,” Benioff told Deadline.com. “Our friend Scott Frank brought up the opening line of Dirty White Boys."

An opening line good enough to hook the reader, here it is: “Three men at McAlester State Penitentiary had larger penises than Lamar Pye, but all were black and therefore, by Lamar’s own figuring, hardly human at all.”

Benioff and Weiss are in post-production on Season 4 of  GAME OF THRONES.
