BREAKING: The Hollywood Reporter > THE PURGE Idea might have been stolen!

According to the HR, screenwriter Douglas Jordan-Benel has filed a lawsuit claiming that the storyline for $90 million grossing film THE PURGE was almost exactly like his script SETTLER'S DAY which he submitted to  to UTA agents David Kramer and Emerson Davis in July, 2011, which is where THE PURGE screenwriter James DeMonaco is repped by Charlie Ferraro.  Imperative Entertainment has an ATLANTIC WALL

According to reports, Imperative Entertainment yesterday won what was described as a "competitive bidding" war for the pitch ATLANTIC WALL by Zach Dean.  Dean wrote the crime thriller DEADFALL (2012) and in 2013 landed on The Black List for his biker crime story BEAST. The story for ATLANTIC WALL is reportedly set during World War II and the opening stages od D-Day where a lone American paratrooper gets stranded behind enemy lines with only hours to deliver critical intelligence that could decide the fate of the operation. Scribe named for DIVERGENT Sequel

According to reports, the sequel big screen adaptation of the Divergent film franchise will be written by  Noah Oppenheim (THE MAZE RUNNER), and will be based on Veronica Roth's third bestselling novel series.
